Viruses and memories

Videos are viral too! Today's Talk of the Nation had a segment featuring viral videos... One with a lady in her underwear and a t-shirt dancing the hula with a Wii Fit game/video. (She was featured on the show too, and it was a great segment!) Watching that video and another with this man melting down in a hotel lobby sparked something within me totally unrelated to the viral video concept: The desire to meander memory lane via You Tube.

And I did.

I remembered old cartoons...

And how disappointed I was when the song wasn't included in the recent movie...

I remembered this oldie but goodie that pre-dated the Transformers. My sister and I used to get up at 6 a.m. to watch it on KTTV when we were kids... And this was way before KTTV became FOX...

It's easy to take short trips Back Down Memory Lane, as the old Minnie Riperton tune says. It used to be just photographs that would send me walking or skipping down The Lane. It was sometimes running into an old classmate at the mall, or an acquaintance who reminded me of another friend that actually used to be a "friend", but, of course, that was a couple of breakups ago.

There are the old toothpaste commercials that bring back memories, but it's mostly the old cartoon intros... some of the lyrics and tunes I still remember as if it were still 198... *ahem* ...that year.

And some of the memories are from years that were even before "that year..."

Well, I'm on video overload now... But the trip down Memory Lane was nice!
